The British Indian Awards 2018 took place at the St John’s Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham on the Wednesday the 11th July.  This is an event that acknowledges the accomplishments of the British Indian community and their enterprises in a widely diverse range of industries throughout Britain.  The industries cover, Charity, Sport, Arts, Culture and Entrepreneurs. Media was covered and won by Anuska Arora of Sunrise Radio.  Sponsored by BuxCoins and Cashfinex this year, both had representatives on hand to present key awards.

The British Indian Award evening

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception on arrival and were seated for an award dinner. Entertainment was provided by Socharo Dance who covered two dynamic Bollywood routines well, and then guests listened in as awards were given and some spoke of their achievements and gratitude.

This was the  same night as the World Cup Semi-Final between England and Croatia.  The roads were quiet on the way in.  The event was held with a slightly smaller crowd then expected, but the game was streamed live to the room for those interested parties.

The charismatic Sheila Gordhan was the main presenter for the evening and was excellent in keeping the ceremony moving and guests engaged.  Ocean Consulting had arranged it well and all categories were covered during the allotted time which was a feat in itself.
