Nathanael and Shanice
A Winter Wedding in Birmingham
“the VOW”
Nathanael and Shanice’s Winter Wedding
A wonderful winter wedding for Nathanael and Shanice in Birmingham! In fact, this was a West Midlands special with the activities covering a fair distance.

Winter Wedding Weather
With weddings in the winter, it’s usually the weather everyone focuses on. Fortunately, the weather was great. Rain fell heavily the day before and snow arrived later in the week, but the day of the wedding, it was cold but clear and fresh. This enabled the photos to be taken comfortably outside the hall and large crowd of guests made it a great setting having just had the ceremony and vow affirmed.
Shanice was a beautiful bride and looked amazing, with a dress that everyone loved. Both her and Nathanael wore their trademark smiles all day. You can tell a lot about a couple’s relationships with others, by the atmosphere on the day. It was obvious they were good friends with those who attended. There was constant laughter which stopped us focusing on how cold it was. Family traveled from all over and the day was also a nice celebration of family ties.
The Winter Wedding Breakfast
The reception at Worthfield Village Hall, had the bride’s designs and hard work on display. Paper flowers provided the back drop to the top table and paper florals were dotted around the hall. The speeches were very emotional! The bride and groom enjoyed the pre-wedding shoot video as shown in the couples shoot link here or on my vimeo site. This went down really well and the bride and groom’s reactions having heard each others comments for the first time, really emphasized what a great feature this is. After the first dance, the parent dances also lead to a few tears.
I love photographing weddings like this! Such an obviously special day for a great couple with family and friends outwardly showing their love and support.
Winter Weddings in Birmingham don’t always cover such a wide area in distance but the traveling was a minor in relation to the celebration.
