Dauntley and Simone
A City Wedding Birmingham
“the VOW”
City Wedding Birmingham | Dauntley and Simone
The Vow – Birmingham Register Office, Holliday Street, Birmingham, B1 1TJ Photographs – Birmingham Peace Gardens, Handsworth Park
Wedding Breakfast – Cap Centre, Windmill Lane, Smethwick
A Birmingham City Wedding for Dauntley and SImone. This was a real privilege shooting as I have known them both for many years. The wedding vows were taken at the Birmingham Register Office and as the rain threatened to fall, a quick trip to the Peace Gardens, Lee Bank, for the groups and some bride and groom portraits. As the rain held off we chanced it at Handsworth Park and was really fortunate with the sun! The reception was held at the Cap Centre Smethwick, nice and local to the bride and groom.
Crossing the city for a wedding
Being a Birmingham native I am well accustomed to the challenges a city wedding can bring. Traffic getting from one location to another can really hamper timings and have a knock on effect to the rest of the day. Fortunately this went well as we planned things out in advance. With one eye on the weather we had a back up plan for photographs and were able to make use of two locations which created some interest and covered the bride and groom’s wishes.
At the Cap Centre, Simone and Dauntley entered the breakfast jamming! In fact Simone has became the first bride I have seen to officially do ‘the robot’ in her 1st dance! I loved it and all the guests were cracking up!
Songs were sung by family and there were tears and laughter as there should be. Friends from around the way and school days made an entrance in the evening. I chose to show the 1st dance as the last set of images though. The Jagged Edge, ‘Let’s get married’ was played and the whole family joined in with Dauntley’s son DJ bossing the mike! Great fun!
